X Factor star Olly Murs replaces Jedward on August 27th

News from Cawdor Castle

Last year’s X-Factor runner-up Olly Murs will be appearing alongside the stars from The X-factor at Cawdor Castle on Friday 27th August.

Due to unforeseen circumstances Jedward will be unable to join Danyl, Stacey, Jamie and Ruth for the “Stars from the X-factor” show, however the man who narrowly missed out on last year’s coveted X-factor title will prove to be an even bigger hit with the pop fans attending the event.

Olly wowed the X-factor judges at the first televised auditions with an impressive performance of the Stevie Wonder classic “Superstition”, with Simon Cowell saying it was “the easiest ‘yes’ I have ever given”. He then quickly established himself as one of the favourites for the overall title with memorable renditions of “She’s The One”, “Twist and Shout” and “Don’t Stop Me Now”.

His duet with Robbie Williams on “Angels” was undoubtedly the highlight of the penultimate show of the series, after which the two became friends, with Olly invited to play at Soccer Aid alongside Robbie.

Olly is currently gracing the airwaves with his debut single, “Please Don’t Let Me Go” due for release on the 29th August.

Les Kidger from promoters CK Events said, “We are delighted to have secured Olly for Friday’s show. Whilst it is obviously disappointing to lose Jedward at this late stage we were determined to give the fans an even better experience. Olly was the act we wanted to lead the original line-up but were unable to secure him at the time. It is great that he is now available to round off what will be a fantastic show.”

The MacDonald Brothers will complete Friday’s line up and it promises to be the perfect curtain raiser to the Westlife concert on the following evening.

Mr Kidger added, “We are well underway with the preparations at Cawdor Castle and excitement is really building around the village as they prepare for an invasion of pop fans. It truly is a spectacular venue and we are looking forward to putting on a memorable weekend.”

Tickets for The Stars from The X-Factor priced £25.00 are on sale at www.ticketmaster.co.uk or telephone 08444 99 99 90. A very limited number of tickets for Westlife at Cawdor Castle are still available priced at £42.50 also through Ticketmaster.
