What’s On…This Weekend?

29th – 31st August 2014

Here are a few events taking place this weekend in Greater Speyside. There are, of course, lots of other things to do in the region. Take a look at our blogs if you fancy getting along to a car boot sale, taking your dog for lunch, or going on a marine adventure (amongst other things).

Carve Carrbridge

Saturday 30th August, 10am – 5.30pm

This annual chainsaw carving championship attracts competitors and visitors from all over the world. Be amazed at the wood sculptures being created before your eyes, and enjoy other treats such as home baking, a pipe band, stalls, live music, activities and games.

Tomintoul and Glenlivet Walking Festival

Thursday 28th August – Monday 1st September

A series of led walks and mountain bike rides, all starting from the main square in Tomintoul. Choose a route to suit your ability: some include the chance to improve your navigation and photography at the same time. Prebooking is essential.

Logan’s Family Fun Day, Lossiemouth

Sunday 31st August at 12pm

Celebrity David Gest is coming to Lossiemouth this weekend to open the annual Logan’s Family Fun Day. The title says it all: a great day out for kids and adults alike. And all money raised goes to Logan’s Fund, a charity supporting initiatives that help improve immediate care for Neuroblastoma, other childhood cancer sufferers and their families.
