Port Cottage

Port Cottage is a well-presented traditional detached stone built fisherman’s cottage, which has been wonderfully renovated in 2010 to a high standard whilst retaining its original character. It enjoys a village setting within a quaint street and is only a short stroll to the picturesque harbour with its Creel and leisure boats. The fishing village still retains many of the features and charm of its fishing heritage days. There is a selection of small shops, together with a hotel and Inn within easy walking distance.

Portknockie has a lot to offer to visitors. It has spectacular views over the Moray Firth and there are pleasant coastal trails to the adjoining villages of Cullen and Findochty. The signature feature along the cliff tops is the famous Bow Fiddle Rock, a wave-cut natural arch, which provides a dramatic roosting place for gulls and cormorants. It is a good base for exploring the wide rage of tourist attractions throughout Moray and accessing many activities e.g. Golf, fishing, cycling, walking, pony trekking etc. A comprehensive tourist information pack highlighting the various activities and places to visit is available within the cottage.

The Moray Firth is one of the most important places on the U.K. coast for observing dolphins and whales. The most common species are the Bottlenose Dolphin and the Harbour Porpoise.
