Stewart and Maggie offer an especially warm welcome to their home in Craigellachie, an ideal location from which to spend a few days exploring the castles, whiskey distilleries, abbeys and countryside of this part of the Highlands of Scotland.

Their traditional house 'circa 1850' overlooks the River Spey (and has steps from the garden down to the Speyside Way, a walkers' trail along the river Spey), and the wooden hall on the side is The Green Hall Gallery, a shop selling antiques and collectables.

The small village of Craigellachie is one of the prettiest in Scotland. Spanning the river below is the remarkable iron bridge built by Telford in 1814. This area is the heart of the Malt Whisky Trail, and concentrated within a few miles are more distilleries than any other area in Scotland, many of them open to visitors. Stewart is a member of the Scotch Malt Whisky Society!

All around Craigellachie there are wonderful walks and places of interest to visit on foot... or you can rent a bicycle. Maggie and Stewart recommend you try to stay for a few days, there's so much to see and do!
