Randolp's Leap is a spectacular gorge on the River Findhorn, about 6 miles south of Forres just off the A940. There are lovely woodland walking paths above gorge, with floodstones along the path reminding of the storms of 1829 when waters rose 5Oft.
The name Randolph's Leap refers to Thomas Randolph, who was the 1st Earl of Moray in the mid-14th Century. An enemy he was pursuing one day made his escape by leaping across the gorge here.
