The Forres Footpaths Trust is dedicated to establishing a network of walks in and around Forres. Few Scottish towns can boast the same kind of beauty and history that surrounds this Royal Burgh. In order to enjoy all that is on offer, the Trust has developed a number of walks around the town. Choose to look at the many artefacts still on show, marvel at the floral displays or simply stroll around and get a feel for this beautiful town.
The Trust is not only dedicated to developing footpaths but also to protecting wildlife and enhancing the local environment. Trust members are currently looking at initiatives involving the area around Sanquhar Loch where they hope to provide a wildlife sanctuary. Linked in with this initiative, they are also keen to promote the educational value of the area.
Forres is very fortunate in having so many lovely areas where people can walk. By establishing these routes, the Trust hopes to create an attractive amenity for visitors and to provide locals with opportunities to rediscover their beautiful town.
A number of informative leaflets, complete with maps and routes descriptions, are available from local visitor centres, hotels and the Tourist Information Office or can be easily downloaded from the - Trust Web Site.
